Why Yoga?
Yoga has been used as a therapy for over a thousand years and has been making its way to the Western World increasingly in the last century. Despite the false belief that a person should already be flexible in order to practice yoga, it has many more uses than just flexibility and is accessible to everyone. It trains stability and control in the joints as the range of motion increases. Many of the exercises from chiropractic, physical therapy, and sports derive from yoga postures and sequences. Yoga helps to counter hours of sitting at work - one of the leading causes of back pain that we see here at RCS. Additionally, most students who practice yoga find themselves more relaxed and less stressed than those who have no method of engaged relaxation. Aside from what you may learn here at RCS, we highly encourage finding a routine yoga practice to do on your own to compliment your chiropractic care.
